MacKenzie L
Kennel Tech. / Veterinary Assistant
MacKenzie started as a volunteer for us at age 15. She quickly worked her way into a paid position and over the years has developed into a key member of our staff. Mackenzie not only keeps our kennel area spotless, but cheerfully assists whenever help is needed. Mackenzie is pursuing her college degree in nursing and is an excellent student. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, visiting cafes, working out, and taking her two dogs on adventures. Mackenzie says she’s thankful to be on the Thomas Animal Hospital team and always looks forward to caring for your furry friends.
Danielle H
Kennel Tech. / Veterinary Technician
Danielle is a St. Petersburg College of Veterinary Technology graduate and full-time member of our staff. Danielle joined the practice in early 2018. She regularly assists in the exam rooms and treatment area of the hospital but is always willing to lend a hand wherever needed. Danielle also spends many weekend hours caring for the pets in our boarding kennel. In her spare time, she enjoys taking care of her two kitties and online gaming with her fiancé, Tony. Danielle’s gentle nature and friendly personality make her a perfect addition to our team.
Jacalynn D
Veterinary Technician
Jacalynn is a graduate of Northeast High School and was hired in 2010. She has since developed into a key member of our staff. In addition to her technician and receptionist duties, Jacalynn is responsible for managing the inventory of our prescription diets. She also helps keep our Facebook page and website running smoothly. Jacalynn is quite the “techie.” She is always willing and able to lend a hand when our high-tech devices (or their users) act up. At home, Jacalynn enjoys taking care of her three dogs and four cats. At work, she enjoys taking care of you and your pets. We’re fortunate to have Jacalynn on our team.
Sallie C
Veterinary Technician
Sallie is another transplant from New Jersey. She joined the staff in 2005 as an experienced veterinary technician. Sallie works in the exam rooms, sets up for and assists in surgical procedures, and does virtually all the teeth cleaning and polishing. Her attention to detail makes her the perfect person to order all our medical and surgical supplies. Sallie and her husband Tom have several pets, including some creepy, bald, wrinkled (yet lovable) kitties. If you spot one of our staff members with “real” Irish red hair and a big smile, you’ll know it’s Sallie. We know you and your pets will love her… just like we do.
Sharon C
Client Care Specialist
Sharon has been our part-time receptionist since 2015. She is a native of New Jersey, relocating to the Sunshine State in 1990. Sharon has been employed in the veterinary field since 1965… that’s over 50 years of helping pets and their caring owners. You’ll find Sharon working up front most Saturday mornings. Sharon lives with her legendary Ragdoll cat, Buddha. In her leisure time she enjoys dancing and dining with her boyfriend, John.
Mindi K
Client Care Specialist
Mindi has been a receptionist with us since 2012. Originally a Georgia peach, she moved into our area in 1976. Mindi is a pet lover and a people pleaser. She has a pleasant, easy-going personality that we all love… and you will too! Mindi and her husband, Joe, have four grown sons, grandchildren, and four dogs. In their spare time, they enjoy RVing with their extended family.

Client Care Specialist
Christy joined the staff in 2019 and was quickly promoted from part-time to full-time receptionist. Christy and her husband Bodie hail from eastern Tennessee. She came to Florida well-equipped with veterinary experience, a big smile, and a warm southern accent. Christy and Bodie enjoy spoiling their lovable Chihuahua, Charlie Brown and traveling back home to visit their family and grandchildren.
Kathleen D
Office Manager
Kathleen is the Thomas Animal Hospital Office Manager. She first worked for Dr. Brock in 1989 as a teenager and in 1991 helped transition the practice from Pinellas Place to its current location. Kathleen has an exhaustive list of responsibilities to help ensure a smooth-running operation. She executes them all to perfection. Often, Kathleen is working behind the scenes, but sometimes you may find her helping up front or assisting in an exam room. She can do it all… and with a smile. Kathleen is now an empty nester, but her 4 granddaughters and her 4 pets keep her very busy.
Dr. Karl Brock
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Karl Brock grew up locally in the Tyrone area and graduated from Dixie Hollins High School in 1973. He obtained a B.S. degree from the University of Florida in 1977 and his D.V.M. from the same institution in 1981. After practicing for a year in Venice, Florida, he worked as an associate veterinarian at Pasadena Veterinary Hospital in Saint Petersburg for three years. In 1985, Dr. Brock opened Brock Animal Hospital in Pinellas Place Shopping Center adjacent to the Winn-Dixie store. As the decade closed, the practice relocated to a nearby location on 66th Street. Dr. Lisa Chaize (Thomas) was hired as an associate veterinarian in 1996. She purchased the practice from Dr. Brock in October 2022. He now works for Dr. Thomas as an associate veterinarian. Doctor Brock still enjoys providing the best medical and surgical care for your pets. In his spare time Dr. Brock enjoys do-it-yourself house projects and playing the guitar. He and his wife (Vickie Tuell) of almost 50 years enjoy their extended family that includes three daughters and seven grandchildren. Their beloved long-haired dachshund, Missy Mae, keeps everything running smoothly.
Dr. Lisa Thomas
Practice Owner / Veterinarian
Dr. Lisa Thomas was born and raised in Bradenton, Florida. She attended the University of Florida and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology in 1992 and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. Dr. Thomas began her career at Brock Animal Hospital in May 1996 and worked as an associate for Dr. Karl Brock for 26 years. In October 2022, Dr. Thomas purchased the practice and became the proud owner of what is now Thomas Animal Hospital. Doctor Thomas enjoys traveling, attending sporting events and especially skiing with her husband and two sons. They share their home with a magnificent Goldendoodle named Stanley and three mischievous cats: Echo Ivy and Toast.
